Connect Dapper to Gemini app
Gemini chat on the web and on mobile, with Dapper added as a custom app. Requires Google AI Pro or Ultra and, for now, a personal account in the United States.
MCP endpoint
https://api.dapperglobal.com/mcpBefore you start
- Account
- A personal Google account, 18 or older. Workspace (work or school) accounts can't add custom apps yet; use Gemini Enterprise instead.
- Plan
- Google AI Pro or Ultra. Custom apps run inside Gemini Spark, Gemini's agent, which isn't on the free plan or AI Plus. To use Dapper with Gemini for free, use Gemini CLI.
- Where it works
- US only and English only for now: the option doesn't appear in Chile, Mexico, Colombia or Brazil. You add it on the web (gemini.google.com) and it then works in the mobile app too.
- Permissions
- Keep Activity must be on in your Gemini activity settings; custom apps are unavailable when it's off.
Step by step
- 1
Open Connected Apps
On gemini.google.com, bottom left, go to Settings → Connected Apps. If you don't see it, go to Personal Intelligence → Connected Apps first. You can also go straight to gemini.google.com/apps.
- 2
Add Dapper
Under Custom apps, click Add a custom app and paste the endpoint:
https://api.dapperglobal.com/mcp - 3
Authorize your Dapper account
Click Next. Dapper's sign-in opens: log in and approve access. You don't need a client ID or secret — Dapper supports automatic client registration, so leave Advanced features alone. If the sign-in shows where it returns to and asks you to confirm you started the connection, check that the destination is Google's and tick it.
- 4
Switch to Spark
In the sidebar, click Switch to Spark. Custom apps are only used from Spark.
- 5
Ask something
Type @, pick Dapper, and try: “Find open public consultations from ANEEL about electricity distribution.”
Disconnect or remove Dapper
- Pause: in Connected Apps → Custom apps, switch Dapper off.
- Revoke access: on Dapper, More details → Disconnect. It stays in the list and you can reconnect it.
- Remove: More details → Remove app. This also unlinks Dapper from your Google account.
- Gemini asks for confirmation before any write action, such as following a bill. Read-only queries run without confirmation.
Another way in
No paid plan, or outside the US
Gemini CLI connects the same server from the terminal, free with an API key and from any country. For teams on Workspace accounts, Gemini Enterprise.
